The Ashwicken eco-classroom is an exemplar sustainable building which demonstrates environmentally responsible construction techniques for the fossil-fuel free age.
The building will be used to provide information about the benefits of low environmental impact construction methods, passive solar design techniques and renewable energy applications both to its users and to the wider public. Its ecologically sound credentials will be evident from the materials specification, the construction process, and from the performance of the building in use. The eco-classroom aims to be zero-heated without loss of comfort and net zero CO2 in occupation.
